100 Years
As SPACES Gallery in Cleveland prepared for one of their upcoming exhibitions (opening Jan. 17), 100 Years, All New People, WOOD-LEE was invited to help with the installation for part of the show. The crew at WOOD-LEE was tasked with moving in the 1,800 pound boat that was once used to harbor Cuban asylum seekers. In order to lower the extremely heavy boat properly from the bed of our moving truck, a second truck had to be utilized. Since the boat was too long to be lowered with a single lift gate, our movers cleverly backed another truck up to help support the boat with a second lift gate. After lowering the massive boat, the team had to come up with a way to efficiently roll the boat over the cobblestone street. Using wooden decking, we were able to more smoothly roll the boat from the trucks into the gallery space. Only an hour and a half later, the once seaworthy boat is now grounded and ready for display at SPACES. WOOD-LEE really enjoys participating in projects like this one that benefit a large community.
